On June 5, 2010 Kamukamu launched its fundraising campaign with a highly successful gathering of supporters in Olympia, Washington.  The event, attended by over forty people, took place on a beautiful evening at the home of Kamukamu board members Carolyn Carlson and Ed Dee overlooking the picturesque Puget Sound.

Guests enjoyed a variety of delicious Ugandan foods exquisitely prepared by board chairman Stephen Ssemaala and his wife Harriet, with a great deal of help from the three Ssemaala daughters.  A variety of excellent Northwest beers and wine were also in plentiful supply.
